Did you know that all women and teen girls can defend themselves? We just need to know how!
“I took the course because I wanted to feel safer walking the streets. I do! There is so much more though. I feel better about myself. I feel safer in my home. I am not afraid for my child. I am prouder to be a woman.”
Taking ACTION means:
- Learning to fight back in situations of harrassment or assault whether they are physical, sexual, psychological or verbal
- Practicing simple and effective verbal and physical techniques by way of discussions, role plays, and various concrete examples
- Enjoying a warm and cooperative atmosphere in the company of other women (taught by a woman for groups of 10 to 20 women)
- Asserting ourselves on a daily basis, feeling freer and more confident
- Concentrating on what we CAN do rather than what we cannot do.
ACTION is accessible to all women!
The Montreal Assault Prevention Centre offers a customized service:
ACTION is adapted for women of differing backgrounds, ages, and physical abilities.
An ACTION course can be specifically organized for a group of 4 - 6 women with physical disabilities. As with all ACTION classes, the focus is on the strategies each woman can use.
We come to you! ACTION can be taught at the location of your choice within the province of Québec.
